About the facility

Barwon Health is the major regional health provider for the Barwon South West region. It is one of Victoria’s largest regional health services with one of the busiest hospitals in the state, University Hospital. We serve over 500,000 people through the efforts of over 8,700 staff and more than 1200 volunteers. We provide care at all stages or life and circumstance through a wide range of services from emergency and acute to mental health, primary care, community services, aged care, and subacute/rehabilitation. Care is provided to the community through over 30 key locations throughout the region.

The Women’s clinics provides access to specialist outpatient care to consumers in the Geelong and surrounding Barwon South West region.  The role is based at University Hospital Geelong

About the role

The Ambulatory Manager will be responsible for managing Women's clinics providing a multidisciplinary approach to women requiring gynaecology care.  The Ambulatory Manager will also mange Pregnancy Care clinics and midwifery clinics and other clinics in the Directorate.  The clinics are about to undergo a major change in structure and the way care is provided to meet the growing needs of the service.

  • Manage administrative, nursing, midwifery and allied health teams working in clinics
  • Engage with innovative models to improve care for women and families in the Geelong region
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure the smooth day to day operational running of clinics 
  • Understand change management principles to improve the service
  • Provide leadership to the outpatient team
