Part of a Team
Barwon Health runs a substantial Advanced Training Program for General and Acute Care Medicine Trainees. With links to Western Regional Training Hub in Warrnambool and Ballarat, we aim to be able to provide trainees with a training experience that will meet all their personal preferences and RACP training requirements. Locally at Barwon Health Trainees have access to 6 month core rotations in General Medicine, Senior Medical Registrar positions, and specialty rotations in Cardiology, Respiratory, Intensive Care and Gastroenterology, as well as Senior Medical Registrar experience in a local Private Hospital setting. Support is provided to trainees through the physician training team, with teaching embedded within rotation units, and links to state-wide General Medicine Advanced Trainee education programs. Trainees who complete their training with Barwon Health are often able to find consultant positions within our network.
Barwon Health has an active academic unit, and trainees can be provided with links to facilitate research and RACP required projects.
