Sitting within one of Victoria’s six regional health centres, Barwon Health serves the community of Greater Geelong and beyond. We serve over 500,000 people through the efforts of over 8,000 staff and more than 1200 volunteers. Our Mental Health Drugs & Alcohol Service is entering a new phase of co-design of our service system with people who access our services and our wider community. This will build on our nationally recognized unique cultural approach to the challenges of recovery oriented service delivery to redesign our service system.

About Mental Health Hospital in the Home (MHHITH) Service
A new initiative coming out of the Royal Commission, the Barwon MHHITH is one of a limited number of HITH programs being established and evaluated across the state of Victoria. The aim is to provide timely and effective, intensive treatment and support for individuals aged 16 years and older with high acuity mental health and / or AOD needs, in their home environment. The service provides 9 adult and youth acute mental health bed-equivalent packages of care and operates 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week.
About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated senior clinician to be part of our Mental Health Hospital in the Home Service. You will provide shift leadership and clinical interventions across three shifts: 0700-1530, 1330-2200 and 2130-0730. As the RPN4, senior clinician, you will demonstrate leadership in the ongoing development of the MH HITH and the broader Acute Intervention Services programme. Other duties include;
- Acute intake and risk assessments; liaison and networking with consumers, families and other services; recovery-orientated treatment planning; and evidence based brief interventions.
- Clinical decision making around risk management strategies and prioritisation.
- Liaison with and referral to other MHDAS teams and external agencies
