About the facility

Barwon Health is one of the largest regional health services in Victoria, providing care for approximately 80,000 emergency presentations per year. The emergency department have both an adult and paediatric short stay unit to ensure consumers receive the right care, at the right place at the right time.

Under Barwon Health’s emergency model of care patients are streamed to dedicated assessment areas including fast track, adult, paediatric, resuscitation, trauma and mental health areas. Our mission is to improve access and patient flow to provide a sustainable service that ensures high quality, safe, people-focused care.

About the role 

As an Emergency Associate Nurse Unit Manager you will actively participate in generating new ideas and commit to continuous improvement. You will lead a team of dedicated Emergency staff, enabling open communication with clinical stakeholders to ensure Barwon Health's ED remains a progressive service, with an eye on the future. You will;

  • Be registered with AHPRA 
  • Be able to demonstrate a significant level of clinical competence
  • Have a proven ability to take a leadership role in strategic and daily issues through your professionalism, relationship building and personal drive
  • Have commitment to flexibility and innovation in practice including an evidence-based approach to care and ongoing commitment to research, quality care and customer service
