Barwon Medical Imaging (BMI) is the leading provider of imaging services in the Geelong and South West region, The MRI facility provides a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to work with state of the art MRI technology including a 3 Tesla Siemens Trio and 1.5 Tesla Siemens Avanto, which have recently undergone upgrades to the latest technology.  Our MRI service runs across 7 days and 5 evenings.

Geelong Hospital employs 22 Radiologists and thirteen RANZCR accredited Registrars.  It is currently the major clinical training facility for the newly formed Deakin University Medical School.  Barwon Medical Imaging has a strong commitment to teaching and research.

Geelong is Victoria’s second largest city and is situated on Corio Bay, less than an hour’s drive from Melbourne.  The region has a lifestyle to suit all interests with excellent schools, superb beaches, stunning scenery, wineries and restaurants.

About the Role

BMI are now seeking a suitably qualified radiology trainees to join its’ dynamic team, to undertake 12 month (6 month job share may be considered) advanced training in Magnetic Resonance Imaging whilst still participating in provision of broad diagnostic imaging services.   The positions will commence in February, 2022. 

This position provides a recently qualified radiology candidate with advanced training in all aspects of clinical MRI (with an emphasis on neurological and musculoskeletal MRI).  The objective of the program is to provide training in routine and state-of-the-art MRI techniques.  BMI performs all facets of MR imaging and has an experienced and enthusiastic group of MR radiologists.

In addition to the clinical aspects of MRI, a component of this position will be an opportunity to participate in a research project in the area of MRI.

The successful applicants will also assist in general reporting and participate in the on call roster for the Medical Imaging Department.
