About the facility 

The Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (VPRS) is located at the McKellar Centre within The Community Rehabilitation Centre (CRC). We provide team rehabilitation on an outpatient basis to young people living in the community. Clients are provided with flexible, goal orientated and individually tailored programs.

About the role

As the Physiotherapist, you will provide specialist clinical care in an interdisciplinary model to children and adolescents requiring rehabilitation after botulinum toxin injecting, major illness, injury or elective procedures. You will ensure a best practice approach to the delivery of rehabilitation, focusing on the child’s needs in the context of everyday activities and lifetime opportunities. The service encourages innovation and working with families to get the best outcomes for young people.

There is likely to be some travel to community organisations and schools when you facilitate a young person to achieve their goals. There may also be some travel required to other Health Services. You will act in Accordance with Barwon Health’s Vision and Values and VPRS Barwon Health’s team behaviours.

Selection Criteria Essential: Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy).
Essential: Current national registration as a Physiotherapist with the AHPRA
Essential: Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
Essential: Working with Children’s Check
Essential: Specialist expertise in the rehabilitation management of children/adolescents, including Physical and ABI rehabilitation. Competencies would include but are not limited to Physiotherapy Assessment, Casting and Splinting, Care Planning and Goal setting.
Desirable: Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills and the expertise to resolve complex problems.
