Barwon Health, situated in the regional coastal city of Geelong Victoria, is seeking expressions of interest from recently graduated and experienced mental health professionals (psychiatrists, psychologists, mental health nurses, occupational therapists) to join our Mental Health Drugs and Alcohol Service(MHDAS). About Barwon Health
Barwon Health is one of Victoria’s largest regional health services with one of the busiest hospitals in the state, University Hospital. We serve over 500,000 people through the efforts of over 8,000 staff and more than 1200 volunteers. We provide care at all stages or life and circumstance through a wide range of services from emergency and acute to mental health, primary care, community services, aged care, and subacute/rehabilitation.
Our Mental Health Drugs and Alcohol Services (MHDAS) is internationally recognised for providing integrated and recovery oriented mental health assessment, treatment and community support. Our clinical programs are innovative with integrated models of practice that are client centred, accessible and family inclusive.
About the roles
Barwon MHDAS have opportunities across our directorate including:
- Acute Services (Consultation liaison, Bed based, Hospital in the home and Emergency services).
- Community Health ( including Youth & Adult, Community Intensive Treatment)
- Specialist departments (including AOD, Therapies and Eating Disorder Programs).
The breadth of positions across the directorate means we can provide candidates with career opportunities and working arrangements that can suit their individual circumstances and professional goals.
About you:
- Recognised relevant qualification and experience
- Demonstrates eligibility and compliance with national registration standards with relevant discipline governing body
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to function as a member of the multidisciplinary team
- Committed to working towards a best practice model and delivery of care
