  • Join the brand new Mental Health and Wellbeing Local service in Geelong - 1 of only 6 in the state
  • Provide leadership through primary & secondary consults & clinical supervision to junior staff
  • Multiple opportunities available - Permanent part time and full time
  • Great work/life balance – Current hours are M-F 0830-1700 (once operating at full capacity, some evenings and weekends will be required)

About the service

Mental Health and Wellbeing Local is a new service that supports Victorian adults receive mental health and wellbeing treatment, care and support closer to home.

The Greater Geelong and Borough of Queenscliffe (GGQ) Local Mental Health and Wellbeing Service is delivered by a consortium of equal partners: Barwon Health, Wathaurong Aboriginal Cooperative Ltd, Wellways Australia and ERMHA365. Drawing on established services, networks, and pathways, the GGQ Local Services provides seamless integration between local, area and wellbeing services for the benefit of consumers, carers, and providers. This is supported through standardised assessment tools, treatment and support processes, care plans and care coordination, colocation of services and regional navigational pathways.

About you

  • Experienced in managing operational procedures and participating in service development
  • Highly developed skills in the holistic assessment of consumers’ mental health and associated physical health and psychosocial needs
  • Significant experience in delivering evidence informed, person-centred and recovery oriented mental health services in the community
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the principles of equity, diversity, continuous improvement, risk management and occupational health and safety
  • Demonstrated skills in working with a diverse range of mental health disciplines (including lived experience, mental health and alcohol and other drug support workers, liaison workers)

About the role

As the successful applicant, you will;

  • Provide consumers and their families a range of clinical therapies and primary and secondary consultation within and external to the Locals service
  • Demonstrate leadership in both the ongoing development of the Locals service and day-to-day operations of the team
  • Provide high-quality clinical and line management supervision for clinical staff within the Locals Service

Please note this position will eventually require occasional after business hours and weekend work.
