About the facility 

Mental Health, Drugs and Alcohol Services (MHDAS) provides integrated and recovery orientated mental health, drugs and alcohol assessment, treatment and community support to people of all ages within the Barwon region experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, mental health and / or drug and alcohol issues, and their families.

About the role 

This is an exciting new role within MHDAS. You will provide vision, leadership and financial accountability to the Community Acute Intervention Services, specifically acute community treatment and mental health phone triage. Duties of this role include:

  • Developing and embedding the model of care for acute community treatment in MHDAS
  • Oversight of clinical workflow (acute community assessments, treatment and care and mental health phone triage)
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Operational management and data reporting / analysis.

We are looking for a strategic person who has experience in community acute intervention services and phone triage, who has a passion for leadership, and who values high quality, innovative, evidence based and recovery orientated practice. The position will work closely with the MHDAS leadership team to understand current service provision and build further service capacity for acute mental health and drugs and alcohol treatment. 

We welcome applicants from nursing, social work, occupational therapy and clinical psychology backgrounds.

Essential: Formal professionally recognised qualifications in relevant health field (i.e. Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Clinical Psychology)

Essential: Demonstrated leadership experience in managing complex, challenging and acute mental health teams
Essential: Completion of a post graduate qualification in leadership or management
Essential: Current Victorian Drivers Licence
