About the facility

 The Elective Surgery Access Unit (ESAU) provides care and management for all patients in the Geelong, Surf Coast and Western Victorian regions from point of referral on the inpatient waiting list to admission for surgery. We work closely with the surgical units, anaesthetic department, outpatients, theatre (including public in private health services) and the hospital wards to ensure consumer focused, equitable and timely care is at the forefront.

About the role

 The ESAU RN will assist in the management of elective surgery patients from referral for surgery, pre-operative work up, allocation of surgery date, admission for surgery to discharge planning in accordance with the Department of Health Elective Surgery Access Policy (ESAP).
