About the facility
Barwon health is the major regional health provider for the Barwon South West region. It is Victoria’s largest regional health service with one of the busiest hospitals in the state, University Hospital. We serve over 500,000 people through the efforts of over 7,000 staff and more than 1000 volunteers. We provide care at all stages or life and circumstance through a wide range of services from emergency and acute to mental health, primary care, community services, aged care, and subacute/rehabilitation. About the role
Are you interested in causal work within a health care team? Barwon health is looking for candidates with a Certificate III in Health Services Assistants as we continue to grow our workforce in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Patient Services Assistant will ensure the effective provision of patient care in the assistance of nursing staff in the areas of patient welfare, comfort, hygiene and transport in order to achieve and maintain quality patient outcomes.
Duties of the role include but are not limited to:
- Transporting patients between wards, departments and theatres and transporting equipment between wards, departments and theatres
- Couriering x-rays, specimens and patient records
- Provision of essential assistance to the Enrolled/Registered Nurse in relevant required patient and ward support activities to ensure quality patient centred care is delivered, maintained and compliant with relevant EBA and Barwon Health guidelines, policy and procedures.
