About the facility
Barwon Health’s McKellar Centre is a recently upgraded facility located only minutes from the centre of Geelong. It is situated on a vibrant community asset with parkland surrounds and incorporates state of the art equipment.
Blakiston Lodge
Blakiston Lodge is a modern 90-bed facility featuring spacious secure design, modern decor, a contemporary colour scheme with natural lighting and connection to the external courtyards. The beautiful garden settings enhance emotional wellbeing and offer a sense of tranquillity. The comfortable, modern and spacious shared areas are connected to the numerous gardens and courtyards. It features pleasant surroundings in which to dine and socialise with family and fellow residents, including a multipurpose room, TV sitting room and kitchenette. Blakiston Lodge is dedicated to caring for people with dementia and mental illness and offers a safe and secure environment and quality nursing, medical and psychiatric support for residents.
About the role
As the associate nurse unit manager (ANUM) you will provide leadership in the planning and delivery of a high quality service within Barwon Health’s Residential Aged Care Service.
Duties of your role include, but are not limited to:
- Effective daily allocation of staff resources to required area’s on ward to ensure skills mix
- Ensuring provision of a high quality service that meets the needs of the residents, and promotes staff satisfaction and retention
- Managing day to day functioning of the shift to ensure operational requirements of the ward are met
