About the facility 

Operating Services at Barwon Health consists of 14 Operating theatres and one endoscopy suite across three points of care; Main Theatre, Gretta Volum Centre & Youang Surgery Centre . Youang Surgery Centre is a newly refurbished expansion to Barwon Health’s Operating Services. It comprises of 4 operating theatres, Stage one & two recovery, preadmission and discharge facilities with a focus on Barwon Health’s elective surgery restoration plan. Barwon Health’s Operating Services includes 3 points of care; Main theatres, Gretta Volum Centre and now Building B. Between the 3 points of care there are 16 theatres and one endoscopy suite, we perform approximately 22,000 procedures per year from specialities such as; Cardiothoracic, ENT, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Oral Faciomaxillary, Plastics, Orthopaedic, Ophthalmology, Urology, Vascular and Robotic Surgery.

About the role 

The Registered Anaesthetic and or Recovery Nurse is responsible for the provision of patient/client/resident focused holistic nursing care to those assigned to him/her, in order to achieve desired clinical outcomes.

The Registered Scrub or Scout Nurse is responsible for the provision of patient/client/resident focused holistic nursing care to those assigned to him/her, in order to achieve desired clinical outcomes. Tell us where you want to go and we will help you get there! Current opportunities available for Scrub nurse roles within our Cardiac Operating Theatre. In our Cardiac operating theatres we strive to always work collaboratively, with a key focus on team culture. We are proud to foster exceptional relationships between Nursing staff, Surgeons, specialised Cardiac Anaesthetists, and our Perfusion team. Here at Barwon Health we function as a tier two ECMO program which allows us to perform complex Aortic surgery, combined procedures with the vascular team, as well as advanced minimally invasive surgery and cutting edge Robotic procedures.
