About the facility

University Hospital Geelong is a 400-bed University affiliated teaching hospital in a beautiful bay city setting with access to a renowned surf coast with excellent lifestyle and sporting facilities.  There are many local cultural activities and only 55 minutes away are the extensive facilities of Melbourne, the State capital.

The multi-disciplinary Pain Management Unit is recognized as a Tier 1 training facility by the Faculty of Pain Medicine ANZCA. Collaborative relationships exist with Palliative Medicine, Rehabilitation Medicine and Psychiatry. The Department has a strong commitment to excellence in clinical, education, quality, and research activities with a significant interest in the ongoing development and refinement of processes of care.

About the role

A vacancy has become available for a Specialist Pain Medicine Physician. We are looking for a positive, enthusiastic, team-orientated Consultant to join the existing multidisciplinary team [Pain Medicine, Psychiatry, Psychology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Nursing]. The service provides for patient consultation, multidisciplinary assessment, Group Therapy Programmes. Research and further education will be supported.

You will be a Specialist who is a Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine ANZCA

Commencement date: By mutual agreement.

Excellent pay and conditions will be in accordance with the Barwon Health Staff Anaesthetists’ Certified agreement. Participation in the afterhours on-call/recall roster will be required which is remunerated in addition to the base salary.
