About the facility 

MHDAS provides integrated and recovery orientated mental health, drugs and alcohol assessment, treatment and community support to people of all ages within the Barwon region experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, mental health and / or drug and alcohol issues, and their families.

Our service is internationally recognised for its innovative clinical programs and integrated models of practice that are consumer centred, accessible and family inclusive. We are fortunate to enjoy excellent internal relationships and have developed excellent partnerships with the local community that provide for seamless integrated care for our consumers and their families.

About the role

The Adult Intensive Complex Care (AICC) clinician’s primary objectives are to:

  • Provide intensive, clinically focussed assertive outreach therapy and support to high needs and complex MHDAS consumers in line with the consumer’s care plan and recovery goals as a less restrictive alternative to admission to a mental health inpatient setting
  • Participate in quality improvement as part of the inter-professional Therapy Program
  • Contribute to increasing capacity across MHDAS to utilise and deliver specialist assessment and therapies

Essential: Formal professionally recognised qualification in Psychiatric Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Psychology (including endorsement to practice as a clinical or forensic psychologist).• At least 5 - 7 years’ experience in a mental health setting (as per discipline specific EBA requirements
