About the facility
Barwon health is the major regional health provider for the Barwon South West region. It is one of Victoria’s largest regional health service with one of the busiest hospitals in the state, University Hospital. We serve over 500,000 people through the efforts of over 8,000 staff and more than 1200 volunteers. We provide care at all stages or life and circumstance through a wide range of services from emergency and acute to mental health, primary care, community services, aged care, and subacute/rehabilitation. Care is provided to the community through over 28 key locations throughout the region.
About Outpatients
The Outpatient department aims to provide specialist patient focused care to consumers in the Geelong and surrounding Barwon South Western Region. We have grown in an attempt to meet the demands of the growing population now covering four sites and manage an average of 4,500 referrals for care per month
About the role
As a clerical team member of the Outpatient department you will be crucial to the assisting the delivery of specialist clinic care.
You will:
- Answer queries from patients around appointments, waiting lists and other related information and customer service queries.
- Provide clerical and reception services in a confidential and accurate manner, in accordance with Barwon Health Outpatients policies and procedures
- Contribute to and assist the Outpatients Nurse Unit Manager and Clerical Team Leader in maintaining efficient reception service delivery.
- As required ensure appropriate communication of information to relevant Barwon Health departments and external healthcare providers.
