About the facility 

The Andrew Love Cancer Centre (ALCC) is a comprehensive cancer centre that has provided expert care to those affected by cancer in Geelong and southwest Victoria in a supportive and caring environment since 1992.  

Our service gives adults living in the Barwon South West region access to world class cancer treatment.  Based in Geelong, we have state-of-the-art facilities, equipment and highly skilled health professionals who provide personalised treatment and care. Chemotherapy, haematology and radiotherapy services are provided at the Andrew Love Cancer Centre and inpatient services are provided in Baxter Wing 6 at University Hospital Geelong. Some outreach clinics are available to people living in rural areas.

About the role 

Barwon Healths Andrew Love Cancer Centre are seeking Casual Radiation Therapists to join the team, opportunities exist for either a Grade 1 or Grade 2 Radiation Therapist.

The Grade 1 Radiation Therapist will engage in the planning and treatment of radiation therapy patients. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Participation in the staff rotation between Treatment and Planning
• Interpreting instructions from planning and utilise information to accurately participate in the daily treatment of patients.
• Keeping accurate records of all treatment details; participate in appropriate summarisation of necessary records as directed.

The Grade 2 Radiation Therapist will have additional competencies and responsibilities to a Grade 1. These additional competencies include one or more of the following:

• Demonstrated advanced technical expertise which significantly benefits consumer care
• Demonstrated skills to support and mentor Interns and students as required
• Demonstrated ability to assist managers with daily functions
