About the Role
The DRANZCOG Advanced is designed for medical practitioners who have gained skills in obstetrics through the basic Diploma and who wish to develop them to a level that will enable them to safely undertake complex deliveries, advanced gynaecological procedures and perform basic early and late pregnancy ultrasound scanning.
University Hospital of Geelong has a busy obstetrics & gynaecology unit. The level 5 maternity service delivers 2700 babies each year. Within gynaecology major and minor gynaecological procedures are performed including laparoscopic & robotic surgery.
At Geelong Hospital we can offer:
- DRAV1 Advanced Obstetrics: caesarean delivery, perform instrumental delivery (vacuum and forceps), repair of perineal tears.
- DRAV2 Advanced Gynaecology: basic pelvic laparotomy, hysteroscopy, miscarriage, termination.
- DRAV3 Ultrasound: transvaginal and transabdominal first trimester scanning, late pregnancy scanning
