About the roles

1 x Drugs and Alcohol Service (DAS) - Temporary Part Time - 64 hours per fortnight (until 28.02.2023)

As the Grade 1 Occupational Therapist in DAS, you will be supported by the Senior Occupational Therapist to provide occupational therapy and alcohol and other drugs assessment and interventions for consumers 16 and above seeking assistance for their substance use. Duties of your role include but are not limited to;

  • Developing consumer centred care plans
  • Participating in clinical reviews
  • Liaising with internal and external services to facilitate care provision
  • Keeping accurate clinical documentation

2 x Mental Health Drug and Alcohol Service (MHDAS) - (rotating) - Temporary Full Time - 80 hours per fortnight (until 28.02.2023)

We have 2 x rotational graduate occupational therapy positions available within our Mental Health, Drugs and Alcohol service. You will be responsible for the beginning practice in the delivery of evidence-based OT assessment, treatment and support to consumers presenting with complex mental health and drug and alcohol problems. You will have the opportunity to work within either the Swanston Centre Acute Unit, the Community Rehabilitation Facility or the Hospital in the Home team. The Positions will work 8.30-5 shifts, 5 days a week alongside a more senior Occupational Therapist. This position includes participation in study days with interdisciplinary program overseen by Mental Health Drugs and Alcohol Education team.

MHDAS provides integrated and recovery oriented mental health, drugs and alcohol assessment, treatment and community support to people of all ages within the Barwon region experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, mental health and drug & alcohol issues, and their families.
