Position Summary

- Provide expert phone advice and referrals and formulate assessment of risk factors
- Current hours: Mon-Fri 0830-1700. Moving to: 7 days per week 0700-2200
- Temporary Full Time – 80 hours per fortnight (+ADO, until 2/1/24)
About the facility
The Phone Triage team is a 7-day-a-week service with two shifts; morning and afternoon. The team is a tertiary-level multidisciplinary mental health drug and alcohol team. Its aim is to provide timely and effective phone-based assessment to triage the mental health and/or drug and alcohol needs of consumers and their families. Referrals come from consumers, carers or other stakeholders calling in via a central intake phone number.
About you
- Current registration as a registered nurse, occupational therapist, social worker or clinical Psychologist
- Significant experience working in a mental health triage setting
- Significant experience in acute mental health and AOD assessment and treatment
- Demonstrated advanced level of clinical skills in the assessment and treatment of people with acute mental health and substance use disorders in a community setting
About the role
As the successful applicant you will have highly proficient phone triage skills to complete an assessment of consumer needs and refer onto the most appropriate service. Senior clinicians will demonstrate leadership in both the ongoing development of the team and support the C-AIS manager with day-to-day operations of the team.
