About the service
Our Mental Health Drugs & Alcohol Service provides integrated and recovery oriented mental health, drugs and alcohol assessment, treatment and community support to people of all ages within the Barwon region experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, mental health and drug & alcohol issues, and their families. Our service is internationally recognised for its innovative clinical programs and integrated models of practice that are client centred, accessible and family inclusive.
About you
- Registration with AHPRA as an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2)
- Medication endorsement
- Committed to providing Recovery Orientated service delivery
- Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2014 and its amendments
- Previous experience in acute mental health nursing
- Sound knowledge of current psychiatric principles and practices
About the role
As the Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse, you will work under the supervision of the Registered Psychiatric Nurse and team leader. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Providing high quality, best practice direct delivery of psychiatric treatment and care to consumers
- Being part of the multidisciplinary team operating from a Recovery Orientated perspective
- Demonstrating respect for individual’s values, customs and spiritual beliefs to ensure patient care is effective and culturally appropriate

About the facilities
Prevention and Recovery Care (PARC) is a subacute program that offers an 8 bed residential program, day program and outreach support in partnership with ERMHA for up to 28 days. PARC offers a step up/step down program where consumers are invited to engage in a therapeutic program along with a tailored care plan responding to their areas of support need.
Community Rehabilitation Facility (CRF) is a residential 12 bed program offering psychosocial support for consumer for a longer length of stay with a focus on sustainable strategy to manage mental health experiences, therapeutic programs and one to one support and care plan tailored to the consumer's needs.
Swanston Centre Acute Psychiatric Inpatient Unit (SCA) is a 32 bed, acute psychiatric admission unit that provides recovery orientated care delivery for people aged 16 and over, experiencing the effects of major mental illness/distress.
McKellar Mental Health and Wellbeing Unit (MK MHWBU) is a newly developed, 16 bed unit that provides specialised mental health care for older adult (50 years +), including those with complex mental health and general health co – morbidities.
