About the facility

The Mental Health Therapy Services develops and provides specialist assessment, consultation and evidenced-based psychotherapies as part of consumer’s treatment within Barwon Health's Community Mental Health services. This includes dedicated allied health inputs, ASD services, comprehensive psychotherapy programs for personality disorders and/or a history of trauma, and a clinical psychology trainee program. The service contributes to increasing capacity across MHDAS to utilise and deliver specialist assessment and therapies.

About you

  • Formal professionally recognised qualifications in clinical Neuropsychology
  • Experience in neuropsychological assessment of people with complex mental illness
  • Experience in delivery of empirically supported treatment approaches for people with complex mental health and psychosocial needs
  • Well-developed knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2014 (Victoria)
  • Highly developed and effective communication skills and demonstrated effectiveness working in an interprofessional team
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the principles of equity, diversity, continual improvement, risk management and occupational health and safety

About the role

Neuropsychologists provide specialist assessment and treatment for complex mental illness.  You will work collaboratively with peer workers, allied health, nursing, community clinicians and psychiatrists to ensure people receive comprehensive care that helps consumers feel better. As part of our team you will contribute to an interprofessional working culture that values innovation and diversity.
