Barwon Health’s Mental Health Drug and Alcohol Service (MHDAS) is seeking experienced Clinical Psychologists to join our innovative Therapy Service.  You will join our team of specialist clinicians to provide direct clinical work, both individually and in groups, using therapies such as DBT, ACT, EMDR and CPT. We have developed the design, delivery and evaluation of our Therapy Services Programs to enhance treatment outcomes for consumers in public mental health.

About the facility

Barwon Heath Mental Health Drugs & Alcohol Services are actively building upon our nationally recognised reputation for innovative clinical programs and integrated models of practice that are consumer centred, accessible and recovery orientated. Our Mental Health Therapy Services develops and provides evidenced-based psychological treatment for consumers of the Barwon Health's Community Mental Health Teams with a focus on delivering services for those experiencing personality disorders and/or a history of trauma. The service contributes to increasing capacity across MHDAS to utilise and deliver specialist assessment and therapies.

About the Roles

As the successful applicant in the inter-professional MHDAS Therapy Program you will:

  • Provide specialist psychological assessments and therapies to MHDAS consumers in line with consumers’ individual care and treatment plans
  • Provide clinical leadership and contribute to service quality improvement within the Therapy Service and across MHDAS
  • Increase capacity across MHDAS to utilise and deliver specialist psychological assessments and therapies to MHDAS consumers
  • Provide clinical leadership and professional supervision for psychologists and students in Barwon Health

Essential: Endorsement as a clinical psychologist and supervisor status with Psychology registration board
Essential: 5 years experience in the delivery of structured psychological treatments for complex mental illness
Desirable: Expertise in delivery of therapies for personality and trauma such as DBT, MBT, ACT, EMDR
Desirable: Experience in clinical leadership and/or clinical program development
