About the facility 

The Acute Neurosciences Unit (ANU) is a stand-alone Neurosciences unit with state of the art equipment to support best practice standards and smooth patient flow at University Hospital Geelong. ANU is an 18 bed unit, comprised of 16 general neurology beds, incorporating a stroke unit and 2 beds for extended Epilepsy monitoring. The department of Neurology offers a large team of Neurologists who are experienced within all areas of this speciality. The nursing team work closely within the multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible health outcomes for patients in our region. The Acute Neurosciences Unit on Heath Wing 2 centrally located at University Hospital Geelong, only minutes from our CBD and vibrant waterfront.

 About the role 

The Acute Neurosciences Unit is looking for a highly motivated ANUM or Registered Nurse lookng to step up into a leadership role and join the team. As the associate nurse unit manager (ANUM) you will provide leadership in the planning and delivery of a high quality service within Barwon Health’s. Duties of your role include, but are not limited to:

  • Effective daily allocation of staff resources to required area’s on ward to ensure skills mix
  • Ensuring provision of a high quality service that meets the needs of the residents, and promotes staff satisfaction and retention
  • Managing day to day functioning of the shift to ensure operational requirements of the ward are met
