About the facility 

Be a part of an exciting expansion in Operating Services at Barwon Health.

Operating Services at Barwon Health consists of 14 Operating theatres and one endoscopy suite across three points of care; Main Theatre, Gretta Volum Centre & Youang Surgery Centre. At Barwon Health we operate on an average of 22,000 procedures a year and across of vast array of surgical specialities; Cardiothoracic, Cardiology, ENT, General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Oral Faciomaxillary, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedic, Vascular, Urology & Plastics

Operating Monday to Friday; GVC comprises of two theatres and an endoscopy suite with a primary focus on high turnover lists from a variety of specialities including Gastroenterology, General Surgery, ENT and Ophthalmology.

Operating Monday to Thursday; Youang Surgery Centre is our newly expanded service within the existing Operating Services Department at Barwon Health. Youang Surgery Centre consists of 2 new theatres, stage 1 and 2 recovery and a dedicated admission and discharge environment. Youang Surgery Centre has a variety of specialities from Gynaecology, General Surgery & Urology.

About the role 

You will be an experienced scrub/scout or anaesthetics and recovery nurse looking to grow your career at this exciting time of expansion at Barwon Health.  Key to your success will be your energy, enthusiasm and passion for perioperative nursing and your ability to integrate into a busy, dynamic theatre team.

You must be a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency. Post graduate qualifications in a relevant area will be highly regarded.

  You will have a demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development.

You must have an excellent communication skills, are well organised and have good time management.  You will demonstrate the ability to:

• Deliver consumer centred care that meets best practice standards and in line with Barwon Health requirements
• Establish and maintain effective communication within a multi-disciplinary team so that patients receive quality ongoing care
• Facilitate service coordination where possible to ensure broader health and well-being issues are supported.
