Part of a Team

The Surgical stream for HMO2 rotates through a vast range of Units where you will get a broad perspective of all of the services that University Hospital Geelong, offer.  You will be an integral member of the team working alongside accredited and unaccredited registrars and consultant staff.  Positioned next to Deakin University Clinical School you can gain experience in supervision and teaching of students both on the ward and in the classroom.  The Medical Education Special Interest group runs the 'Near Peer teaching Program' and provides Teaching on The Run courses and mentorship in simulation teaching. 

About the Role

The HMO2 surgical stream pathway offers many different training experiences, suitable to your specific surgical suitable to a pathway into the HMO3 critical care year.

Rotations include Emergency, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Urology, and ENT.

The year planner includes 3 terms of your choice (preference), 1 cover term including nights and a 5 week block of annual leave.

Our HMO2 Surgical year is based at University Hospital Geelong.
