About the facility 

Barwon Health, Central Resource Unit (CRU) provides emergent and non-emergent nursing staff replacement for all bed based services. We provide staffing resources to meet every day operational needs of clinical units for nursing and support staff for bed based units across Barwon Health.

About the role 

Barwon Health is offering a ‘Transition to Acute Care’ Program for EENs with 12 months experience or greater. The program will run for 8 weeks and includes 4 study days.  Clinical support is provided along with supernumerary time in Acute surgical wards and areas at University Hospital Geelong. On completion of the program there will ongoing employment with the opportunity to apply for positions within surgical wards and areas or continue working at Barwon Health in our Acute Nursing Pool.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Delivering consumer-centred care that meets best practice standards
  • Establish and maintain effective communication within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure patients receive quality ongoing care
  • Actively participate in the care of Acute Surgical patients
