About the facility
The Oncology/Haematology unit is located in the brand new Baxter Wing at University Hospital Geelong. This recently opened ward is a dynamic environment to work in, with a high-achieving, knowledgeable and supportive team. There is growing evidence that exercise plays a crucial role in the physical and psychological recovery of people who have undergone treatment for cancer related diseases.
About the role
As the successful candidate you will work closely with the physiotherapists and nursing staff to implement exercise programs and education on the oncology/haematology ward at the University Hospital Geelong. The role will include the delivery and evaluation of individual and group exercise programs for patients under the guidance and supervision of a physiotherapist. In addition to well-developed exercise prescription and group facilitation skills, you will possess strong communication and organisational skills. A high level of personal resilience is a must.
