Part of a Team

The Pain Management Unit (PMU) consists of 5 Specialist Pain Medicine Physicians, Psychiatrist, Psychologists and Physiotherapists with direct links with Acute Pain Service, Palliative Care and Drug & Alcohol. The PMU is within the Department of Anaesthesia, Perioperative and Pain Medicine. The unit operates a number of group programs and individual assessment clinics. Opportunities exist for gaining skills in fluoroscopic interventions excluding dorsal column stimulation. The multi-disciplinary Pain Medicine service is the longest established in Victoria recognised as a Level 1 unit for training by the Faculty of Pain Medicine ANZCA. As such these positions are aimed at applicants who fulfil the criteria for The Pain Medicine Training Program Faculty of Pain Medicine, Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.     

About the Role

Applications are invited for a 12 month fellowship in Pain Medicine, either Core or Professional Development year.

This fellowship will provide exposure to General Pain Medicine, Acute Pain Medicine, Acute and Chronic Cancer Pain, Chronic Pelvic Pain, Addiction Psychiatry and General Psychiatry related to Chronic Pain, Chronic Pain secondary to Spasticity, and Fluoroscopic and Ultrasound Guided Intervention.
