About the new service

The Greater Geelong and Borough of Queenscliffe (GGQ) Local Mental Health and Wellbeing Service is delivered by a consortium of equal partners: Barwon Health, Watharoung Aboriginal Cooperative Ltd, Wellways Australia and ERMHA365.

Drawing on established services, networks, and pathways, the GGC Local Services provides seamless integration between local, area and wellbeing services for the benefit of consumers, carers, and providers. This is supported through standardised assessment tools, treatment and support processes, care plans and care coordination, colocation of services and regional navigational pathways.

About the role

The Operations Manager, employed by Barwon Health, will lead, develop, oversee, manage, and report on daily operations and future growth of the Local Service.

Your key functions:

  • Oversee the service through its establishment phase to full operationalisation
  • Develop and manage the team through effective, supportive and responsive management
  • Provide effective, high quality and responsive recovery-oriented clinical and wellbeing service delivery
  • Work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and partners to ensure all activities are in accordance with the Consortium Governance Strategy, SW Regional Board, Barwon Health Strategic Plan and National Mental Health Standards.

About you

  • Formal professionally recognised qualifications in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work
  • Extensive clinical experience particularly in community mental health settings
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing teams supporting consumers with complex mental health and psychosocial needs
  • Conflict management skills
  • Proven ability to deliver negotiated outcomes
