About the facility 

Barwon Health’s McKellar Centre offers a range of rehabilitation services that enable people to make a dynamic recovery. It is situated on a vibrant community asset with parkland surrounds and incorporates state-of-the-art equipment. Adzen is a high level secure unit at McKellar Centre that provides residential care for older people suffering from Dementia and is conveniently located in North Geelong. As well as anaesthesia services, the department also manages the acute and chronic pain services, and the peri-operative unit, including cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPX) for pre-operative assessment of patients.

About the role 

The Endorsed Enrolled Nurse is responsible under the direction of a Registered Nurse, for the provision of consumer focused holistic nursing care to those assigned to him/her, in order to achieve desired clinical outcomes.  At all times the Enrolled Nurse retains responsibility for his/her actions and remains accountable in providing delegated nursing care.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Establishing and maintaining effective communication within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure consumers receive quality ongoing care
• Engaging in improving care activities and service redesign initiatives
• Providing quality consumer care using an evidence based approach in consultation with the registered nurse and other members of the health care team
