About the facility

The Perioperative Medicine service provides perioperative assessment and management of surgical and medical patients being considered for surgery or procedures at Barwon Health.

 About the role

The Perioperative Medicine Nurse Consultant will coordinate and participate in the perioperative care of patients being considered for surgery at Barwon Health. He/She/They will provide high quality professional, patient centred care for patients managed by the Perioperative Medicine Service.  This role includes  triage and co-ordination of appointments, patient assessment and CPET.  QA activities, education and research activity is encouraged.

As the Perioperative Medicine Nurse Consultant, you will practice autonomously with the support of Senior Medical Staff to deliver high quality, safe and effective care. 

 Prior experience in Perioperative Medicine Nursing would be beneficial

Essential: Registered Nurse with AHPRA
Desirable: Postgraduate Diploma in Perioperative Nursing or equivalent
Desirable: Qualifications in healthcare leadership, quality & safety, research methods or public health
Desirable: Previous experience in an outpatient clinic setting
Desirable: Membership of an appropriate professional association
