About the facility

We are a dedicated cancer inpatient ward located at University Hospital Geelong, and have a range of complementary services such as clinical trials and pharmacy at the Andrew Love Cancer Centre allowing us to offer patients the very best treatments available. The Supportive Care Centre provides unprecedented cancer support for patients and their families in the Geelong region.

Our services are staffed by a highly trained and dedicated team of professionals. We are here to help adults experiencing cancer with world class treatment options including radiotherapy treatment, chemotherapy, apheresis unit/stem cell collection, transplant clinic and haematology services.

About the role

Are you a Nurse/Medical Scientist who has a passion in clinical research looking to expand your skills and experience?

As the Clinical Trial Coordinator, you will support current and upcoming trials by working with colleagues and in collaboration with a dynamic multidisciplinary team to ensure high quality of data collected and successful trial management. You will be responsible for the coordination and management of the several tumour streams within the medical oncology portfolio involving liaison, patient education and coordination.

Your key responsibilities include the coordination and management of clinical trials in oncology, as well as liaising with Principal Investigators, Study Monitors, Study Participants and other CTCs. You will also developing working relationships with key internal and external parties including trial sponsors, investigators, patients and research participants.

Desirable: Current Nursing registration with AHPRA and experience in phlebotomy and cannulation
Essential: Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
Essential: Effective interpersonal, communication and management skills
Essential: Demonstrated knowledge of various IT platforms, databases and database management, data entry and demonstrated IT skills
Desirable: Demonstrated skills in Clinical Research participation
Desirable: Previous experience in oncology or haematology clinical trials is preferred
Desirable: Understanding of ICH-GCP and NHMRC National Statement 2007 principles
