Join Barwon Health’s Mental Health Drugs and Alcohol Services Jigsaw team today! We have created multiple, brand new, ongoing opportunities for experienced psychiatric enrolled nurses looking for their next challenge. These roles will be primarily located at Jigsaw Corio and Geelong city offices, where you will have support from the wider team in your daily duties.
About the facility
Jigsaw provides specialist early intervention for young people with or at risk of developing a psychotic disorder and treatment services for young people with drug and alcohol and/or high prevalence disorders. Under the auspice of the wider Barwon Health Mental Health & Drug Alcohol Service, it also forms a central component of the Headspace Geelong Consortia and is actively involved in service development and innovation to assist in the national campaign to promote early and effective mental health and drug and alcohol interventions for young people.
About the Role
The PEN Level 3 roles will form part of the Jigsaw mental health team, to advocate for and facilitate the involvement of individuals, their families and significant others in planning and evaluating care.
As a Level 3 PEN, you will practise at an advanced level within the Mental Health specialty and will have significant mental health experience and a passion in particular for youth.
Core responsibilities in the provision of patient-centred nursing care include:
- recognition of normal and abnormal in assessment
- intervention and evaluation of individual health and functional status provision of support and comfort
- assisting with activities of daily living to achieve an optimal level of independence
- Providing for emotional needs of individuals with their aim being to ensure physical and psychological wellbeing and recovery of clients
- Monitoring the impact of nursing care and maintaining ongoing communication with the registered nurse (RPN) regarding the health and functional status of individuals
