About the facility

The Child and Youth Triage Team is the initial point of contact within Barwon Health Mental Health Drug and Alcohol Service for infants, children and young people aged 0-25 years and their families.  Clinicians working within this team accept written and telephone referrals and act as the first point of contact for the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), Jigsaw Youth Mental Health Service and the Eating Disorder Service. 

About the role

The role of child and youth triage clinician requires a capacity to provide expert screening and assessment through enquiry in order to determine an appropriate, timely and accessible response to all referrers. The triage clinician provides clinical advice and makes recommendations and referrals. This is a senior clinician role which should be consumer focused and ensure the highest standard of assistance in accessing services. The clinician will work in close collaboration with and support the Child and Adolescent and Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Eating Disorder Services (EDS) and Jigsaw clinicians, Consultant Psychiatrists and Registrars.
