About the facility
The Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (VPRS) is located at the McKellar Centre within The Community Rehabilitation Centre (CRC). The VPRS team provide rehabilitation on an outpatient basis to young people living in the community. Clients are provided with flexible, goal orientated and individually tailored programs. At the end of 2021 the team will move into a purpose built Paediatric Rehabilitation Centre funded by the community via the Barwon Health Foundation.
About the role
As the Senior Speech Pathologist, you will provide specialist clinical care in an interdisciplinary model to children, adolescents, and their families. You will ensure a best practice approach to the delivery of services, focusing on the consumer's needs in the context of everyday activities and lifetime opportunities. The services encourage innovation and working with families to get the best outcomes for young people.
The Senior Speech Pathologist has a clinical leadership role in implementing aspects of the service model and strategic direction in consultation with the Paediatric and Young Adults Program (P & YA) Co-ordinator, ensuring best practice and evidence based approach to the delivery of services.
Please be aware there is likely to be some travel to community organisations and to other Health Services.
