About Aged Care 

Barwon Health’s McKellar Centre is a recently upgraded facility located only minutes from the centre of Geelong. It is vibrant community asset with parkland surrounds and incorporates state of the art equipment. Wallace Lodge, located at the McKellar Centre situated on a, is a 108-bed, high level, aged care residential facility. We offer focused professional development with dedicated nursing educators on site, set within new state-of-the-art facilities.

Located at the McKellar Centre in North Geelong and on Surf Coast Hightway in Charlemont.

Alan David Lodge

• 108-bed facility located in Charlemont which is a short drive to both the Geelong CBD and coastal surroundings
• 74 residential high level care beds and 34 transitional care beds

Wallace Lodge

• 108-bed facility located in North Geelong easily accessible via the Geelong Ring Road and is a short drive to the Geelong CBD    
• Our residents require assistance with their daily living, chronic medical conditions and social engagement within the community

About the role

Do you have a passion for aged care nursing and are dedicated to resident focused care?  Barwon Health are seeking enrolled nurses to work in our aged care facilities, If you are a Medication Endorsed Enrolled Nurse apply today.

As the Enrolled Nurse you will be responsible for the provision of patient, client and resident focused holistic nursing care to those assigned to you, in order to achieve desired clinical outcomes, under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Duties of the role include but are not limited to

• Delivering consumer centred care that meets best practice standards and in line with Barwon Heal
• Providing quality patient care using an evidence based approach

A great new initiative from the government has announced a ‘Healthcare Worker Winter Retention and Surge Payment’, for public sector healthcare workers. This initiative applies to all employees of Barwon Health and will be implemented next financial year. Payment will be paid on a pro rata basis in August and September 2022. The payment is both a recognition of the work of healthcare workers during the pandemic as well as an incentive to retain staff and encourage part time workers to do additional shifts.
