About the facility 

The Rapid Assessment Planning Unit (RAPU)  is a 16 - 18 bed short stay Acute Medical Unit for patients from the Emergency Department that need a short admission and will benefit from intensive, routine allied health input. A multidisciplinary team approach is used to develop a plan of care for a safe and effective discharge from hospital within 48 to 76 hours. 

About the role 

As the successful applicant you will be responsible for the provision of patient holistic nursing care to those assigned to them, in order to achieve desired outcome. 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Providing quality patient care using evidence based approach and in line with Barwon Health policy and Procedures.
  • Demonstrating respect for individuals values, customs and spiritual beliefs to ensure patients care is effective and culturally appropriate 
  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure patients receive quality ongoing care.
