About the facility 

The Nuclear Medicine and PET Department at The University Hospital Geelong undertakes a diverse range of procedures and studies within a public and private health setting. The PET/CT facility is a state of the art custom built department that is serviced by a SIEMENS MCT System. Our Nuclear Medicine facility comprises of 2 Phillips Dual Head Gamma Cameras with a GE Discovery 670 SPECT/CT system to be installed in 2016.

The Department has a fully equipped radiopharmacy laboratory which undertakes reconstitution of radiopharmaceuticals, dispensing of patient doses and all releveant quality control mechanisms. Further studies such as blood labels and other cold laboratory duties are also undertaken.

About the role 

Barwon Medical Imaging is seeking a professional and dedicated Nuclear Medicine Technologist/Scientist. The Grade 1 role is to continue excellent service delivery to provide the desired outcomes both in a patient setting and in a laboratory setting. The Grade 1 role participates across the department roster throughout PET/CT, Nuclear Medicine, Radiopharmacy and after hours on call service.

Selection Criteria Essential: Registered with AHPRA
Essential: As required under the Radiation Act 2005 the Nuclear Medicine Technologist/Scientist must hold current registration with the Medical Radiation Technologists Board of Australia (MRTBA) under the auspices of AHPRA and a Victorian Government, Department of Health, Radiation ‘Use Licence’.
Essential: Tertiary qualification recognised by the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nuclear Medicine – e.g. Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Radiations (RMIT)
Essential: Demonstrate a broad range of knowledge, experience and competency in all routine Nuclear Medicine and PET examinations, including all routine laboratory procedures
Desirable: Current experience in both PET/CT and SPECT/CT
