About the facility 

Information Services is a directorate reporting directly to the CEO. We provide services in traditional ICT (servers, storage, networks, security etc.), Clinical Applications management, administration and support, Medical Records, Project Management, Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing and Data Integrity, and run programs to support regional collaboration such as Telehealth. We work closely with our business and clinical colleagues in partnership to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions. 

About the role 

As the Technical Business Intelligence Analyst you will be responsible for providing Barwon Health with analysis and development of Business Intelligence capabilities within the organisation. This will include providing data insights for the organisation, building analytical repots and real-time dashboards. You enable and drive the use of information to make informed decisions across the organisation with a focus on supporting self-service initiatives. The role is based at University Hospital, Geelong in a modern working environment including flexible working arrangements.

Essential: Tertiary qualifications in a health or extensive information technology experience in an information technology related field
Essential: Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Business Intelligence applications and development tools, including: 1. SQL Server Integration Services, 2. SQL Server Analysis Services, 3. SQL Server Reporting Services; and 4. Power BI
Essential: Experience in extracting data and delivering quantitative analysis from relational databases and other sources of data.
Essential: Competent in current T-SQL programming techniques and good understanding of OLAP and OLTP data structures.
Essential: Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary, agile team environment.
Essential: Ability to represent data in a meaningful way to enable evidence-based decision making.

Desirable: Familiarity with health care systems such as FirstNet, iPM, TCM, BOSSnet or similar.
