About the facility 

Barwon Health North Urgent Care Centre is a busy and dynamic facility located in Geelong's growing Northern Suburbs.  Co-located with Barwon Medical Imaging and numerous Community and Allied Health services and the new Head to Help mental health service - you have a vibrant multidisciplinary team at your fingertips! Clinical care at Barwon Health North is led by highly skilled Nurse Practitioners, with strong links to University Hospital Geelong Emergency Department.

About the role

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) – will provide evidence based care in an emergency setting as well as a community setting; to patients with support of medical practitioners and other health care providers.

The NP has specific clinical responsibilities for clinical practice within scope in relation to patient presentations and admissions.

There is a requirement that they be a registered nurse practitioner, educated and authorised to function autonomously and collaboratively in an advanced and extended clinical role within their scope of practise, providing innovative and flexible health solutions, whilst being a clinical leader influencing and progressing evidence based clinical practises and procedures.

Specifically this will be achieved by:

  • Providing leadership, guidance and accountability pertaining to clinical standards to achieve high quality health care.
  • Demonstrating behaviours and attitudes that are consistent with Barwon Health's values and strategic plan and professional nursing philosophy.
  • Supporting the relevant leaders to build and maintain high performing clinical team that operates within a performance framework to drive a culture of accountability, best practice and innovation.
  • Fostering a culture of ongoing development and improvement.
