About the facility

Blakiston Lodge is a 90 bed purpose built Residential Aged Care facility based at the McKellar Centre, and provides permanent and respite care services as part of Barwon Health to the residents of the Barwon Region. The facilities core service is providing residential aged care services with a focus across the two units of Dementia Specific and Aged Persons Mental Health and is supported by a dedicated nursing structure that are trained in this specialty area.

About the role

The successful candidate will enjoy full responsibility for the facility, whilst still enjoying the support of dedicated NUM's in overseeing Care delivery within the facility. You will be responsible for the overall clinical and financial performance of the service and supported by the business to achieve positive results in the provision of high quality care. You will undertake budgeting, recruitment and site development initiatives with the support of the Aged Care directorate behind you and a variety of opportunities to further develop your professional skillsets within the opportunities for professional development and exposure Barwon Health can provide.

Selection Criteria Essential: AHPRA Registered Nurse Division 1
Essential: Extensive post-graduation experience, including relevant business and risk management experience in a Residential Aged Care environment
Essential: Reported ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner
Essential: Competent computer skills in software applications including Microsoft Office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and Access
Essential: Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
Essential: Proven ability to liaise with senior management
Essential: Proven ability to liaise with a broad range of customers
Desirable: Excellent customer service skills, friendly and approachable friendly disposition
