About the organisation

Formed in 1998, the organisation’s dedicated team of over 7000 staff and 1300 volunteers provide a broad range of primary, community, aged care, rehabilitation, mental health, emergency, sub-acute and acute care services across 22 sites including:

  • University Hospital Geelong
  • Community health services at key locations throughout the region such as Belmont and Newcomb
  • Aged care through the McKellar Centre in North Geelong and Alan David Lodge in Charlemont
  • Rehabilitation services at the McKellar Centre, North Geelong and Belmont

About the role

The Chief Nursing & Midwifery Officer is the organisation’s principal officer with responsibility for clinical governance, leadership and strategic development of the nursing & midwifery workforce.  The role is responsible for an integrated model of:

  • Quality & Patient Safety 
  • Clinical Education & Training
  • Library and Literacy
  • Access & Central Resource Unit
  • Infectious Diseases 
  • Infection Control and Prevention 
  • Practice Development  
  • Spiritual Care

This role also has executive responsibility for the Rural and Regional Collaboration for the Barwon South Western Region.
