About the role

Provisional Fellows and Advanced Training Anaesthesia Registrars, Department of Anaesthesia, Peri-operative & Pain Medicine, Barwon Health, Geelong. Applications are invited for senior anaesthetic registrars to join our friendly and expanding Department of 22 Staff Consultants, 27 VMO's and 16 Registrars and Provisional Fellows.

University Hospital Geelong a 500-bed University affiliated teaching hospital, is situated in a beautiful bay city setting with access to a renowned surf coast. The city and surf coast region offer a range of excellent lifestyle choices and an array of sporting facilities. There are many local cultural activities and only 55 minutes away are the extensive facilities of Melbourne, the State capital.

The department supports a wide range of clinical anaesthetic services including regional anaesthesia and ultrasound, obstetric and paediatric services, cardiac (including TOE) and a benchmark Peri-operative Service. The multi-disciplinary Pain Medicine service is recognised for training by the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the College of Anaesthetists. The department has a strong commitment to excellence in clinical, education and research activities and a strong focus on preparing senior trainees for consultant practice.

Subspecialty programs have been developed as part of the Provisional Fellowship position. Regional Anaesthesia, Perioperative medicine. 6 months Regional, 6 months general experience

Applicants must be registered ANZCA - ATY 1, 2 or 3.

Selection Criteria Essential: Are you registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulatory Authority (AHPRA)?
Essential: Have you completed a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (or equivalent) either in Australia or if at an Overseas University, completed both parts of the Australian Medical Council exams?
Essential: Can you provide evidence that you exhibit high standards of professional behaviour; integrity, punctuality, reliability and ethical practice?
Essential: Do you varied clinical experience prior to anaesthesia role; E.G General Medical, Medical Specialty, Obstetric and Gynaecology, Surgical experience.?
Essential: can you demonstrated commitment to ongoing Medical Education, Quality Assurance and Teaching?
