About the facility 

Barwon Health, based in Geelong, Victoria, is one of the largest and most comprehensive regional health services in Australia, providing the full spectrum from primary care, community services, aged care, rehabilitation, mental health, emergency and acute care and employing over 7,000 staff. Barwon Health is a major teaching hospital for the Deakin Medical School and has an active and growing research base.

Barwon Medical Imaging (BMI) provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic services including X-Ray, OPG, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, Angiography (intervention), Mammography, PET and Nuclear Medicine. These are performed by a team of highly skilled radiologists, radiographers, sonographers, nuclear medicine technologists, nurses and support staff who ensure that all patients have access to quality services.

About the role 

Are you a graduating RMIT medical imaging student seeking a 12 month internship or a Monash or Deakin Medical Imaging student seeking a 6 month placement?  Barwon Health now has a number of opportunities available, set to provide you with a broad range of experience and develop exceptional radiographic skills.

The Barwon Cluster program is affiliated with Lake Imaging (including St John of God Hospital, Geelong), Werribee Mercy Hospital, Warrnambool Base Hospital, Western Districts Radiology in Warrnambool and Portland District Hospital. We also provide the opportunity to experience evening and weekend shifts in one of the busiest emergency departments in Victoria in a safe supervised setting.
