About your role

As an Operating Suite nurse, you are responsible for the provision of patient centred, evidence-based nursing care and are expected to embrace a practice development philosophy in the delivery of that care. The nursing care you provide, will be within a safety and quality framework that promotes positive health outcomes. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individual/s and the health care team. The provision of care is inclusive of ethnicity, culture, gender, spiritual values, sexuality, age, disability and economic and social factors and delivered in consultation with the patient or family as all or any of these may impact on the health journey.

In this role, you will be an active part of a health care team, show leadership and embraces change in the coordination and delivery of care, ensuring appropriate referral to, and in consultation with, other relevant health professionals, service providers, as appropriate. You will assist in the provision of supervision and support for less experienced clinicians or student, maintain your professional development and meet ANMC RN competency.
