About the facility

Applications are invited for anaesthesia advanced trainees or provisional fellows to join our friendly and supportive department. The department currently employs 21 full-time and 26 part-time anaesthetic consultants and 18 anaesthetic registrars (ranging from BT1 trainees through to provisional fellowship).

The department supports a wide range of clinical anaesthetic services including regional anaesthesia and ultrasound, obstetric and paediatric services, cardiac anaesthesia (including transoesophageal echocardiography), a benchmark perioperative service, and a multi-disciplinary Pain Medicine service. The department has a strong commitment to excellence in clinical, education, and research activities and a strong focus on preparing our senior trainees for consultant practice.

    Subspecialty programs developed for Provisional Fellowship Training Positions include:

Cardiac anaesthesia provisional fellowship (12 months – commences August 2021)

  • Regional anaesthesia provisional fellowship (12 months, includes 6 months regional anaesthesia, 6 month general anaesthesia)
  • Perioperative medicine provisional fellowship (12 months)
  • General anaesthesia provisional fellowship (6 or 12 months)      

Applicants must by registered ANZCA ATY 1, 2 or 3.
