About the facility
The Special Care Nursery at Barwon Health is a Level 5 neonatal nursery. It has capacity for up to 20 cots and is staffed for 13 babies with the ability to increase as required. SCN was recently redeveloped with the assistance of the Cotton On foundation. The facilities are fresh and vibrant and include 2 resuscitation rooms, respiratory support capability for up to 4 babies, a separate parent lounge and 2 overnight rooms.
About the role
In the Special Care Nursery as the Registered Nurse / Registered Midwife – Grade 2 you will work closely with the Associate Nurse Unit Managers and the Clinical Nurse Specialist staff to provide care to neonates from 31 weeks onwards. Staffing is 1:3 according to ratios and self-rostering is available covering all shifts with the opportunity to do 12 hour shifts.
