About the facility

University Hospital's, Baxter Maternity Services is the referral centre for Geelong and surrounding areas and has approximately 2,500 births per year. Services include specialty pregnancy care clinics, including midwives clinics, adolescent pregnancy care, chemical dependency pregnancy care, shared care, midwifery group practice and specialist obstetric clinics.

About the role

Are you a Registered Nurse and Midwife looking to further your career in a leadership role within Maternity Services? Can you provide leadership in the planning and delivery of a high quality service within Barwon Health whilst developing a professional and collaborative partnership in the overall management of Barwon Health? If so, we are now looking to recruit a new coordinator working within the Midwifery Group Practice at University Hospital Geelong.

As the successful applicant you will possess a demonstrated ability in the development of cohesive teams and sound knowledge of team functioning. A proven commitment to flexibility and innovation in practice including an evidence-based approach to care is required. You will need extensive Midwifery experience across the scope of practise, clinical competence and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Selection Criteria Essential: Registered Nurse & Midwife with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency
Essential: Proven ability to take a leadership role in strategic and daily issues
Essential: Proven ability to manage change
Essential: Demonstrated ability in the development of cohesive teams and sound knowledge of team functioning
Essential: Demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development
Essential: Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Outlook (or other e-mail system), Word, Excel and Internet skills to enable quality communication.
Essential: Understanding of and commitment to Health Service Key Performance Indicators
Desirable: Membership of an appropriate professional association
Desirable: Relevant management qualification
Essential: Current advanced midwifery skills spanning scope of midwifery practice with ongoing commitment to completing all advanced midwifery competencies through access to learning modules, and attending skill practice workshops. Is easily identified as a role model of clinical competence
