Barwon Health has five major community health centres, Corio, Belmont, Newcomb, Torquay and Anglesea which provide a range of services to the Barwon region. The Belmont Community Health Centre’s services include counselling, diabetic educators, physiotherapy, nursing, occupational therapy, speech pathology dental services and many more.
About the role
A fabulous opportunity has arisen to for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist with extensive experience in progressive neurology to work with an exceptional Allied Health team in this leave relief position.
The Occupational Therapist working within the Progressive Neurological Service is responsible for the Occupational Therapy component of a specialist interdisciplinary team that will provide integrated assessment, planning and ongoing support to clients in the Barwon region with a Progressive Neurological Disease. The service at Barwon Health forms part of the state-wide model of care for people with Progressive Neurological Diseases (PND) being led by Calvary Healthcare Bethlehem (CHCB).
This role includes implementing the service model and strategic direction, ensuring a best practice approach, and providing high quality, evidence based person centred care in the treatment, management and secondary consultation of clients with PND. The position is based at the Belmont CRC. There may be some travel required to client’s homes, other Health Services, local service providers, community organisations and schools.
